Accuracy checks

Back to the app

How we know it’s right

Each check compares a part of the app with an independent source. The pass/fail rule for each was fixed before its result was looked at. Re-run them yourself with python3 app/run_validation.py.

What these checks do not show: the app is for learning, not mission planning. The terrain is only as detailed as the LOLA maps (80 m and 240 m per pixel), the maps use a 400 m grid, and real landing safety depends on rocks and small craters the data cannot show.
